Our 2006 and 2007 youth fly fishing camps were a resounding success, thanks to all of the great kids, parents and volunteers involved. We hope to make this an annual event and continue to improve the quality of instruction, equipment and logistics as time goes on. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, or have a child 10-14 years of age with a passion for fishing........ U. members and chaperones for an over-night camping & fishing adventure SUBJECTS: Equipment basics, rod, reel, line, accessories, knots, wading and safety equipment Casting, types of casts, presentation skills, distance and accuracy Introduction to fly tying and aquatic insects Trout habitat and water types River ecology and conservation Fishing equipment will be provided, or students may bring their own.
